Coeur d’Alene Boudoir Photography - A Simple White Sheet

Pictured: The beautiful, Chloe Reed

One of the first decisions in doing a boudoir photoshoot, besides the decision to go against your fears and scheduling the session you’ve been contemplating for many months is… what am I going to wear? of course steamy, revealing, lingerie comes to mind, which is amazing, if you feel confident & sexy wearing it; however, then it’s a question of what do I have? and where will I shop?  After these two photoshoots, I will now always suggest the simplest outfit, one where you can be gorgeous with the option to cover as much as you want, or as little,  a simple white sheet.

“We should all start to live before we get too old. Fear is stupid. So are regrets.”

― Marilyn Monroe

One of the most common statements I hear from women who fear doing a boudoir shoot is “I’m not photogenic, I don’t know how to pose or what to do with my face.”  Both of these beautiful ladies have never modeled, they are both hard working mothers that understand the greatest thing in life is self love, acceptance and being comfortable in your own skin, flaws and imperfections included, it’s only then, are you truly free.

In a photo session with Beyond A Studio, you will be guided on posing, facial expression and every little detail from your finger tips to your toes placement.  It’s my job to ensure you are photogenic and that your best assets are captured in your images.

“Beauty is when you can appreciate yourself. When you love yourself, that’s when you’re most beautiful.”

Zoe Kravitz

Life is all about balance, so with that, if light and airy photos are not your style, and you prefer dramatic and edgy photography, here’s a preview of a black sheet boudoir photo shoot.

Coeur d’Alene Glamour Photography: Photoshoot goes from a 5 to a 10: Professional Hair & makeup

Have you ever wondered why those women in magazines look so flawless & perfect?  Photoshop of course, right?  Well no, that isn’t quite the entire story.  You see, the images I show here, have zero skin retouching and she, Chloe Reed - co-owner of Urban Edge Salon, looks simply stunning.  I have photographed many beautiful ladies and the best photo sessions come from not only good lighting, exposure & posing guidance, though also from professional hair & makeup.

With all that said, I have restructured my portrait session fee to include professional hair & makeup for all my female clients.  It’s my highest hope that on the day she gets photographed that not only are her images amazing; that it’s an enjoyable, relaxing experience where she can feel pampered & beautiful.  She might as well take that day off of work too, cause let’s face it, women need to have more personal days.  I also recommend she schedules a hot date after the photoshoot being all dolled up.

CdA Beauty & Boudoir: Photoshoot at 9 months pregnant? Of course

Makeup Artist: Heather Cohick

Makeup Artist Heather Cohick

Such an amazing maternity boudoir photoshoot for me last week with the 36 week pregnant Caitlin who certainly proves, without a doubt, that being with child can be absolutely the most beautiful a woman can be, even though its when woman can feel the most insecure.  First she had an air brush makeover by my dear friend and skincare expert, Heather Cohick, then I photographed her for an hour.

Caitlin was an inspiration to me because even though she is concerned about her changing body in her 20’s with this first pregnancy, she chooses to embrace every bit of it.

I’m positive her husband will cherish these photos of his wife forever, she says he loves her new body.
